Position Summary
Smart City Networks is seeking a Data Platform Architect – AI Enablement to design and build the company’s
modern data foundation and enable scalable AI-driven analytics across venues and events.
This is a foundational, hands-on leadership role responsible for establishing Smart City’s analytical “single source of
truth” by unifying operational, financial, event, and network data into a governed, scalable platform.
This role will lay the groundwork for predictive analytics, AI-enabled reporting, and future data products that
support venue executives and internal teams. The ideal candidate combines strong data modeling and engineering
expertise with practical AI experience and enjoys building systems from the ground up in a growing organization.
This role reports to Vice President, Engineering and is based at the Smart City Networks corporate office in Las
Vegas, Nevada.
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Ownership & Architecture
• Design, implement, and evolve Smart City’s analytical data platform (“shadow” analytics layer)
• Build and manage ingestion pipelines from CRM/ERP systems, financial platforms, network telemetry,
logging systems, and third-party APIs
• Develop standardized data models and curated datasets that support cross-domain analytics
• Establish consistent metric definitions across venues and events
• Ensure data quality, observability, documentation, and lineage
• Design for scalability, cost efficiency, and long-term maintainability
AI Enablement & Advanced Analytics
• Prepare structured, governed datasets for predictive modeling and AI-driven use cases
• Partner with internal stakeholders, and external AI consultants to operationalize AI solutions
• Support development of forecasting models related to attendance, network demand, exhibitor behavior,
and venue performance
• Ensure AI initiatives are built on reusable, governed data foundations
• Contribute to evaluation and integration of modern AI and analytics platforms
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, and external AI consultants to operationalize AI solutions to
prioritize high-value use cases
• Translate business questions into scalable data solutions
• Support executive leadership with trusted, consistent performance metrics
• Reduce manual reporting, reconciliation, and ad-hoc data work across teams
Governance & Data Stewardship
• Establish baseline data classification and governance practices
• Implement access controls and role-based data usage patterns
• Promote responsible AI and data usage practices
• Support compliance, privacy, and security considerations as analytics capabilities expand
Required Qualifications
• 5–10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data platform roles
• Strong SQL and data modeling expertise
• Experience building and maintaining modern analytics stacks (cloud or hybrid)
• Experience working with structured transactional systems and APIs
• Familiarity with telemetry, event, or operational datasets
• Experience preparing data for AI/ML workflows
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable operating in an evolving, build-first environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with modern lakehouse or cloud analytics platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery)
• Exposure to AI productization or predictive modeling workflows
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy, and security frameworks
• Experience in venues, events, telecommunications, hospitality, or similar industries

$130,000 annually, plus bonus potential.
