Essential Job Functions:
• Architect and lead the implementation of next-generation Dolby Imaging algorithms for the Smart TV and STB ecosystem, setting the technical direction for the team.
• Drive the strategy for porting complex models from research (MATLAB/Python) to production, defining the standards for fixed-point C precision and DSP/SoC efficiency.
• Oversee the optimization of imaging pipelines, ensuring state-of-the-art performance for HDR processing and real-time video rendering across diverse hardware platforms.
• Establish best practices for performance profiling, creating frameworks for systemic bottleneck analysis and memory/CPU optimization across the organization.
• Partner with stakeholders and external partners to define requirements, influence product roadmaps, and ensure best-in-class performance.
• Mentor senior and junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous integration, and rigorous release management.
Qualifications/Skills:
• Holds an advanced degree (PHD or Master’s) in Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering, with a strong emphasis on multimedia technologies, and possesses over 8+years of professional experience with a proven track record of delivering complex imaging systems to market.
• Mastery of Embedded C/C++ and deep architectural knowledge of SIMD (NEON) and low-level memory optimization.
• Establish and streamline the end-to-end pipeline for transitioning complex research prototypes from MATLAB/Python to production-grade C/C++, significantly reducing the "lab-to-product" cycle time.
• Deep familiarity with the TV/STB software stack, including Linux kernel-level video drivers and SoC architectures (MediaTek, Broadcom, etc.)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, Agile environment; experience with Git and Jira is required.
Desired:
• Expertise in architecting heterogeneous computing solutions (CPU/GPU/DSP), leveraging CUDA/OpenCL to define high-performance imaging pipelines across diverse hardware platforms.
• Experience leading the strategic integration of Machine Learning into production imaging software, including defining standards for model quantization and edge-deployment efficiency.
• Deep technical influence in connectivity standards; ability to resolve complex HDMI 2.x/HDCP interoperability issues and drive the implementation of next-generation HDR signaling (Dolby Vision/HDR10).
• Comprehensive knowledge of global video technologies and post-production, with the ability to architect systems that bridge the gap between content creation and consumer display.
• Proficient in using Agent-assisted coding tools (e.g., Copilot, Cursor) to perform low-level C optimization, complex bug detection, and Python-based automation scripting.
