ABOUT THE ROLE
The Global IT Manager is responsible for defining, implementing, and managing the organization’s global IT strategy across all regions, ensuring alignment with business objectives in manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and connected vehicle ecosystems. This role oversees enterprise systems, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives across automotive operations worldwide.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Global IT Strategy & Leadership 
  • Develop and execute a global IT roadmap aligned with corporate and automotive business strategies
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives (Smart Factory, connected vehicles, data platforms)
  • Establish IT governance, standards, and best practices across regions

 

      2. Enterprise Applications Management 

  • Oversee implementation and optimization of:
    • ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA)
    • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
    • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) platforms
  • Ensure system integration across R&D, production, and aftersales

 

       3. Manufacturing & Plant IT 

  • Lead IT operations for global manufacturing plants:
    • Shopfloor systems (SCADA, IoT platforms)
    • Automation and robotics integration 
  • Support Industry 4.0 initiatives and smart factory deployments

 

       4. Infrastructure & Cloud Operations 

  • Manage global IT infrastructure:
    • Cloud environments (AWS, Azure, hybrid)
    • Networks, data centers, and end-user systems 
  • Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance across regions

 

      5.  Cybersecurity & Compliance 

  • Define and enforce cybersecurity policies and frameworks
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • ISO 27001
    • Automotive cybersecurity regulations (e.g., UNECE WP.29) 
  • Protect vehicle systems, enterprise platforms, and sensitive data

 

       6. Data & Analytics Enablement 

  • Establish global data strategy and governance
  • Enable advanced analytics, AI/ML, and business intelligence use cases
  • Support use cases such as predictive maintenance and supply chain optimization

 

       7. Vendor & Stakeholder Management 

  • Manage global IT vendors, system integrators, and outsourcing partners
  • Collaborate with business leaders across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial functions
  • Drive vendor performance, contracts, and cost optimization

 

      8. Budget & Resource Management 

  • Manage global IT budgets and investment planning
  • Optimize cost efficiency while supporting innovation
  • Lead and develop distributed IT teams across regions

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 10–15+ years of IT experience, including:
    • 5+ years in a leadership role
    • Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or industrial environments
  • Proven experience managing global IT operations and large-scale programs
  • Enterprise systems: SAP (S/4HANA), MES, PLM
  • Cloud platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud
  • Cybersecurity frameworks and risk management
  • IT service management (ITIL)
  • Enterprise architecture (TOGAF preferred)
  • Data platforms and analytics tools
