The Information Security Engineer is responsible for deploying, integrating, and supporting security tools and solutions that protect the organization’s cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. This role frequently leads engineering efforts, contributes to the development of security standards, provides operational support, and collaborates with IT and business stakeholders to identify, mitigate, and remediate security risks. 

*This role will be Hybrid (2-days a week in office) and it is required that you are located within 50 miles of our Corporate Offices in either Mendota Heights, MN or Loveland, CO. In-person attendance is expected to foster collaboration, innovation, and team connection.

Security Engineering & Operations 

  • Often leads the deployment, integration, migration, and initial engineering of security solutions and enhancements to existing systems. 

  • Accountable for engineering and supporting cloud security technologies, including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft E5 security solutions (Sentinel, Defender for Endpoint, Defender for Cloud, Azure AD, and anti-phishing tools). 

  • Proactively facilitates establishing baselines for monitoring systems and applications for security related issues. 

  • Assist the Security Operation team during incident response, and work closely with the team to ensure that alerts and rules are tuned to reduce false positives while maintaining coverage for relevant threats. 

Security Monitoring, Incident Response & Analysis 

  • Monitor daily operational health of all security tools and platforms. 

  • Manage tool generated alerts, investigate anomalies, and troubleshoot operational issues. 

  • Assists in problem and incident resolution by analyzing and triaging event/system logs such as network, security, antivirus, firewall, WAF, and web proxy logs. 

  • Supports the prioritization and resolution of alerts, service requests, and incidents; occasionally assists junior teammates with prioritization and troubleshooting. 

Security Governance, Standards & Collaboration 

  • Key contributor to the creation, documentation, and maintenance of security standards, processes, and procedures

  • Collaborates with IT and Business stakeholders to prioritize security risks, provide mitigation or remediation recommendations, and implement appropriate security controls. 

  • Contributes to security enablement efforts and supports ongoing IT Security strategy and initiatives. 

Platform & Certificate Management 

  • Provides operational support for security platforms including: 

  • SIEM/SOAR 

  • EDR/XDR 

  • IDS/IPS 

  • Email Security platforms 

  • Certificate lifecycle management (public and private certificates) 

  • Firewalls and web proxies 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in security, Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience. 

  • At least 3 years of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, or information security. 

  • Hands-on experience with the following: 

  • Microsoft Azure administration and security 

  • Microsoft E5 security stack (Sentinel, Defender suite, etc.) 

  • Real world experience supporting and operating key security platforms. 

  • Current understanding of modern security best practices, cloud security principles, and security frameworks. 

  • Ability to work on-call and after hours as needed. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Security industry certifications (e.g., Security+, AZ500, SC200/300, CISSP, GSEC, etc.). 

Travel & On-Call 

  • Travel: 0–5% 

  • On-call support as necessary 

The compensation range for this role is below.

$85,000 - $110,000

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.

$85,500.00 - $113,966.67
