We are seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator - Enterprise Systems to manage and maintain our core enterprise infrastructure. This role is responsible for the reliability, performance, security, and compliance of our Windows-based server environment, virtualization platforms, identity services, and enterprise applications. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach, strong troubleshooting abilities, and experience supporting compliance frameworks such as CMMC, SOC2, and/or ISO 27001.

This role serves as the backbone of Enterprise Systems and works closely with a Systems Engineer focused on Linux and platform operations to provide mutual backup and cross-coverage across the infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain virtualization platforms (VMware), including physical and virtual server environments, clustering, and capacity planning.
  • Administer and support Microsoft 365, Azure, Intune, Active Directory, and Group Policy (GPO) across the enterprise.
  • Manage enterprise and open-source SAN infrastructure, including storage provisioning, monitoring, and performance optimization.
  • Own enterprise backup and replication strategy, including disaster recovery and high availability planning and testing.
  • Administer enterprise email filtering solutions.
  • Own patch deployment and management for all Windows-based systems and enterprise applications.
  • Proactively monitor system health, performance, and security; troubleshoot and resolve critical issues.
  • Create, update, and maintain detailed documentation for systems, processes, and controls.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support for infrastructure-related issues.
  • Serve as backup to the Systems Engineer, Linux / Platform Operations role to ensure cross-coverage and continuity.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 6+ years of experience in systems administration, primarily in Windows environments.
  • Strong experience with VMware virtualization and clustering.
  • Enterprise and open-source SAN experience.
  • Experience with enterprise backup, replication, disaster recovery, and high availability.
  • Proficiency in M365, Azure, and Intune administration.
  • Solid Active Directory and GPO experience.
  • Enterprise email filtering experience.
  • Experience with patch deployment and management processes.
  • Strong system monitoring, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience providing executive-level white glove support.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience administering engineering or manufacturing applications (e.g., SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, Ansys, Mastercam, CST, Siemens PADs) or a demonstrated ability to learn specialized enterprise applications with vendor support.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as CMMC, SOC2, or ISO 27001, including experience implementing or supporting related controls.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits, including evidence preparation and documentation.
  • Experience managing Teams Rooms and conference room systems.
  • Basic familiarity with Linux environments sufficient to provide backup support to the Linux / Platform Operations role.
$90,000 - $120,000 a year
The US national annual base salary range for this is $90,000 - $120,000. The range includes base salary that is expected to be paid for this role. Actual base salary will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the scope and complexity of the role, the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, peer and market data and geographic location.
