Under the direction of the Senior LAN Manager, the Network & Systems Administrator II is responsible for daily administration of the network/server environment. Installs, configures, and maintains system software, monitors network performance, troubleshoots issues and deploys solutions. Plans and implements upgrades, patches, and installation of new applications and equipment. Creates and maintains a disaster recovery, security, backup and restore plan. May assist with evaluating new technologies to optimize network efficiency and performance. Can perform major projects with little or no supervision and maintain communication with other departments and managers. Interacts and communicates with other team members, vendors and end users. Physical Requirements: Tasks involve the ability to exert very light physical effort in sedentary to light work, involving some reaching, handling, fingering and/or feeling of objects and materials. Tasks require perception and discrimination of visual and oral communication ability.
