About the Consumer Team

We work on the patient-facing products at Turquoise Health. We enable patients to compare prices across healthcare providers, and know what they’ll pay before they go in. Our mission is to become the accurate, trusted source of healthcare pricing for patients — and all stakeholders involved in the delivery & payment of their care.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and build robust, scalable applications across full-stack applications (Python/Django, PostgreSQL, JavaScript), and service-oriented architecture

  • Actively learn the complex and interesting healthcare domain to solve novel problems with others

  • Facilitate technical conversations and proactively communicate status and impact to avoid blockers

  • Use technical expertise and knowledge of established systems to collaborate with others and solve ambiguous problems

  • Iterate quickly with an eye towards value

  • Support and guide teammates in understanding technical concepts and established processes

What you'll bring to the role:

  • 5-7+ years work experience in Python, or strong experience in a similar programming language

  • Experience working with APIs such as FastAPI, data pipelines, and complex system architectures

  • Strong understanding of SQL and how to efficiently use databases to solve complex problems

  • Solid experience with JavaScript, and one or more modern JS frameworks like Vue or React

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly

  • Proven ability to facilitate conversations, listen actively, and work effectively in remote environments

  • Entrepreneurial mindset: you initiate and drive processes, tooling, and technical improvements that level up the team

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience/knowledge. We are happy to work with strong candidates with non-traditional educational backgroundss

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with LLM tooling to streamline development, testing, or debugging workflows

  • Healthcare domain experience or understanding of healthcare data and pricing models

  • Experience with data analysis tools like Pandas, NumPy, or similar for large dataset analysis

Benefits:

  • Competitive pay with equity options

  • Stellar health care plan options (Medical, Dental & Vision), with FSA, DCFSA, & HSA options

  • Company-sponsored disability & life insurance

  • Unlimited PTO

  • 401(k) + 4% Matching

  • Fully remote work + flexible working hours

  • $750 work-from-home setup budget

  • Paid biannual in-person company summits

  • Quarterly $150 co-hanging stipend to meet up with coworkers

  • Monthly $100 health and wellness benefit

  • Generous paid family leave

  • Annual $1,200 learning & development stipend
