Software Engineer

Nokia of America Corporation, Software Engineer (Multiple Positions), Murray Hill, NJ. 

• Contribute to research and development for Nokia’s WaveSuite NOC applications for optical network automation. 

• Contribute towards requirement gathering, feature planning, high and lowlevel designs, software implementation, maintenance, upgrade and migration, and documentation updates. 

• Support WaveSuite NOC feature development by improving understanding of Optical Transport Network technologies and Network Element implementations. 

• Improve WaveSuite NOC applications by performing database tunings and writing optimum database queries to ensure faster web page loading. 

• Contribute to debugging field issues from currently deployed WaveSuite NOC software and provide patch fixes. 

• Reduce features and historic bug backlog of WaveSuite NOC applications. 

Telecommuting from a location within commuting distance of Murray Hill, NJ may be permitted up to 2 days per week. #LI-DNI

Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related field, and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related work experience. Or a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience.

Of the required experience, must have 3 years of experience with the following:

• Writing SQL database schema and SQL queries;

• Building software solutions based on client server architecture using rest APIs to tie them together;

• Building on existing software design and enhancing the server-side components to implement enhanced features; and

Of the required experience, must have 2 years of experience with the following:

• Developing secure, robust software solutions for telecommunication network management operations domain.

Telecommuting from a location within commuting distance of Murray Hill, NJ may be permitted up to 2 days per week.
