Duties: Execute software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting. Develop secure and high-quality production code and reviews. Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems. Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams. Drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture. Lead communities of practice across software engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading- edge technologies. Provide guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities. Manage stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 3 years (36 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Java Developer, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 5 years (60 months) of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Java Developer, Programmer Analyst, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: designing and developing interactive web applications with advanced functionalities including frameworks such as Angular or ReactJS for creating responsive user interfaces; utilizing Java to develop efficient and scalable back-end solutions; utilizing the Spring Framework to build robust and scalable applications, including leveraging Spring Data for data access, Spring Security for securing applications, and Spring Cloud for building cloud-native applications with microservices architecture; designing and developing microservices and RESTful APIs, utilizing microservices architecture and best practices for API design; utilizing Cloud platform skills to deploy and manage applications on AWS or Cloud Foundry; container orchestration using Kubernetes for deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications; implementing messaging systems to facilitate communication between distributed systems, utilizing Kafka, AWS SQS, and AWS SNS for reliable message queuing and processing and designing event-driven architectures to enable real-time data processing and integration across applications; cloud-native application design using AWS services including EC2, EKS, and Lambda; utilizing business process management solutions including Camunda BPM or IBM BPM for modeling and monitoring business processes; and applying Agile methodologies including Scrum, CI/CD pipelines, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Test-Driven Development (TDD), and DevOps practices for continuous integration and delivery.
