What You’ll Do

As the Director of Software Platform Engineering, you will:

Drive Engineering Excellence

  • Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring scalable, high-quality delivery

  • Establish and enforce clean code standards and SOLID principles across teams

  • Champion test-driven development (TDD) and robust code review practices

  • Implement and optimize continuous integration pipelines for faster, higher-quality releases

Lead AI-Driven Innovation

  • Evaluate and implement AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor)

  • Establish governance frameworks for responsible AI usage in development

  • Drive improvements in developer productivity, code quality, and speed to market

Own Platform Performance & Strategy

  • Define and execute a multi-year platform engineering roadmap

  • Track and improve key metrics like deployment frequency, code quality, MTTR, and technical debt

  • Lead technical debt reduction and code refactoring initiatives

  • Ensure platform scalability, security, and long-term maintainability

Lead & Align Teams

  • Build and mentor engineering talent through coaching, career development, and technical leadership

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, QA, Operations, and business leaders

  • Align engineering execution with business priorities and customer outcomes

Deliver Operational Excellence

  • Own incident management and reliability improvements, including RCA and post-mortems

  • Manage engineering budgets, including headcount, tooling, and vendor relationships

  • Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data privacy standards

Qualifications

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years leading engineering teams

  • Proven success leading platform modernization or transformation initiatives

  • Experience in Agile/SAFe environments at enterprise scale

  • Strong understanding of modern engineering practices (CI/CD, TDD, SOLID, DevOps)

  • Experience implementing AI-assisted development tools and governance frameworks

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into executive-level insights
