What You’ll Do
As the Director of Software Platform Engineering, you will:
Drive Engineering Excellence
Lead the end-to-end software development lifecycle, ensuring scalable, high-quality delivery
Establish and enforce clean code standards and SOLID principles across teams
Champion test-driven development (TDD) and robust code review practices
Implement and optimize continuous integration pipelines for faster, higher-quality releases
Lead AI-Driven Innovation
Evaluate and implement AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor)
Establish governance frameworks for responsible AI usage in development
Drive improvements in developer productivity, code quality, and speed to market
Own Platform Performance & Strategy
Define and execute a multi-year platform engineering roadmap
Track and improve key metrics like deployment frequency, code quality, MTTR, and technical debt
Lead technical debt reduction and code refactoring initiatives
Ensure platform scalability, security, and long-term maintainability
Lead & Align Teams
Build and mentor engineering talent through coaching, career development, and technical leadership
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning
Partner cross-functionally with Product, QA, Operations, and business leaders
Align engineering execution with business priorities and customer outcomes
Deliver Operational Excellence
Own incident management and reliability improvements, including RCA and post-mortems
Manage engineering budgets, including headcount, tooling, and vendor relationships
Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and data privacy standards

Qualifications

What You Bring
10+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years leading engineering teams
Proven success leading platform modernization or transformation initiatives
Experience in Agile/SAFe environments at enterprise scale
Strong understanding of modern engineering practices (CI/CD, TDD, SOLID, DevOps)
Experience implementing AI-assisted development tools and governance frameworks
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into executive-level insights
