Position Summary

The IT Solutions Architect designs end to end technical solutions that support GSA’s internal HR systems and modernization initiatives. This role provides architectural leadership, evaluates technologies, and ensures solutions align with enterprise standards while guiding development teams through implementation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Design end to end technical solutions for complex HR system requirements.
• Develop architectural blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications.
• Evaluate and recommend technologies, platforms, and frameworks that support HR modernization.
• Ensure all solutions align with enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, and best practices.
• Conduct proof of concepts and assess technical feasibility for new capabilities.
• Collaborate with development teams to define implementation approaches and integration strategies.
• Review and approve technical designs, architecture patterns, and code structures.
• Address nonfunctional requirements such as performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Provide technical leadership across the full SDLC, from requirements through deployment and support.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

• US Citizen
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related field + 8–10 years of experience; OR MS + 6–8 years of experience.
• Progressive experience in software development, engineering, or IT, including 3–5 years in an architectural or lead technical design role.
• Full SDLC experience, including requirements, design, development oversight, testing, deployment, and support.
• Broad technical exposure across multiple technologies, platforms, and methodologies.
