Our New Teammate

The Physical Security Engineer is responsible for the design, documentation, and support of CCTV and Access Control systems from pre-sale through post-sale activities. This role combines technical design expertise with customer interaction, project support, and continuous development.

You can expect to spend your time accomplishing the following:

  • 45% of the time on Objective 1:  CCTV and Access Control System Design.
  • 35% of the time on Objective 2: Providing Post-Sale Engineering Support.
  • 10% of the time on Objective 4:  Team Meetings and Proposals
  • 5% of the time on Objective 3: Assist with the RFP and Bid Response Process.  
  • 5% of the time on Objective 5:  Technical and Cultural Development.

 

Job Responsibilities - What to Expect 

  • Diligently complete detailed and thorough site surveys and create effective security designs and preliminary design drawings based on the assessment.
  • Proactively and correctly spec the proper equipment that fulfills the design, corresponds with networking and application specifications, and meets customer expectations.
  • Proactively gather all necessary information necessary for successful project implementation, and support customer interactions, labor estimates, and BOM drafting.
  • Expertly create CRF documentation to obtain IP information, complete pre-site walkthroughs, and update vision drawings with all changes.
  • Collaboratively assist with creating technical responses and pricing labor and materials for RFPs and other bids.  
  • Graciously attend daily engineering standups, weekly proposal meetings for upcoming projects, and other meetings as required.    
  • Responsibly maintain company vehicles and other company equipment when driving to and from customer locations and optimize minimum/maximum levels of stock material in each company vehicle.

 

Your Knowledge & Expertise

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience working in CCTV systems and Access Control systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Visio, Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint)
  • Experience with Bluebeam, Site Surveyor, IPVM preferred.
  • Experience with Manufacturer design tools, portals, and training such as Axis Site Designer, Wisenet Toolbox Plus, Genetec Portal, and Genetec University.
  • Ability to obtain manufacturing and industry certifications.  
  • Ability to self-manage, cooperate, and coordinate with teams.  
  • Current driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to pass a county/state security clearance.
  • Physical & On-Site Requirements:
    • Ability to perform on-site surveys, which may include standing or walking for up to 8 hours.
    • Travel to and from jobsites. Occasional out-of-state travel may require an overnight stay.
    • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs. of equipment
    • Ability to climb stairs and ladders during site assessments
