About the role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you would be responsible for building the foundation and owning the operational and deployment backbone of Galileo's infrastructure. This includes developing and managing Galileo's customer deployment stack, managing customer deployments, being Galileo's point of contact for anything related to operations, interfacing from customers as well as 3rd party vendors.

What you'll be doing

  • Own customer deployments in both cloud and air-gapped on-prem environments, including installation, upgrades, and troubleshooting
  • Build Galileo's internal deployment observability infrastructure
  • Manage and scale Galileo’s CI/CD deployment infrastructure
  • Tune various infrastructure components - databases and services - to scale the system effectively
  • Design and build internal tooling and automation using Python and/or Go
  • Debug complex deployment issues spanning Kubernetes, networking, storage, and application layers
  • Define and implement infrastructure using Terraform or similar IaC tools
  • Collaborate with customers and internal teams to design scalable, secure, and reliable deployment architectures (cloud + on-prem)

What we're looking for

  • At minimum a Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience working in production-level environments as a DevOps Engineer
  • Strong expertise in Kubernetes and Helm charts
  • Strong experience with cloud systems such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Strong experience with Github and Github Actions
  • Proficient programming skills in Python and/or Go
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform (or equivalent)
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (VPCs, subnets, routing, DNS, load balancing)
  • Experience with cloud storage systems (e.g., S3, GCS) and data lifecycle management
  • Experience with maintaining databases, including performance tuning and operations
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional partners
  • A startup mindset, biasing towards thoughtful action with minimal direction

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for commission, equity, and company sponsored benefits/perks.

  • The annual pay range for this role is $200,000 - $240,000 USD.
