We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Director, Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our Market Hub Engineering team in New York, NY. This role is focused on building the firm's real-time counterparty credit risk platform across multiple businesses and products. The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of quantitative analytics, derivatives risk, and agentic AI coding, helping deliver the analytical and technical capabilities required for intraday exposure management and counterparty risk decision-making. This is a hands-on engineering role for someone with experience building quantitative risk systems. The ideal candidate will be able to partner closely with quants, traders, and risk stakeholders to implement large scale analytic capabilities for large businesses in production system.

 

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Build and enhance real-time counterparty credit risk analytics and services across FX, securities lending, repo, and delta one equities products. 
  • Implement and optimize methodologies such as PFE, EE/EPE, stress exposure, and related CCR analytics. 
  • Translate pricing, exposure, collateral, and netting requirements into robust technical solutions. 
  • Develop scalable distributed systems for trade, market data, scenario, and exposure processing. 
  • Improve performance, resiliency, and operational quality of a business-critical front-office risk platform. 
  • Deliver reusable quantitative engineering components and platform services across teams. 

 

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • 15+ years of experience in software development required
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree is beneficial
  • Significant experience in software engineering for quantitative analytics and front-office platforms. 
  • Strong coding skills in C++, Java, or Python.  Experience in using agentic coding harnesses such as Claude Code or OpenAI Codex is desired
  • Solid understanding of counterparty credit risk, derivatives exposure measurement, and real-time risk system design. 
  • Experience with numerical analytics and pricing/risk model implementation.
  • Proven ability to work with quants, traders, and risk managers in a highly technical environment. 
  • Strong focus on correctness, performance, testing, and production stability.
  • Understanding of the controls and governance expectations associated with model implementation in production risk systems.
  • Willingness to work with third party analytic libraries and models

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $250,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. 
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
